A Day in the Life: An engineer inspired to seek out more

“This is how much I love my job,” says Lynsey, showing off an intricate engineering tattoo. “It’s part of who I am.”

With growing up on a farm, Lynsey says her work ethic started at a young age. She always knew she wanted to pursue engineering; an industry she acknowledges can be male dominated. From the start of her career, she’s been inspired by the people she works with and has advocated for herself to mentor and grow others as she develops in her own leadership capacity.

“I call it ‘continually seeking’—whether it’s continually seeking knowledge or seeking to be better,” says Lynsey.

“Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself.”

As important, Lynsey emphasizes she feels that she can come to work every day and be 100 percent herself. “I feel so welcomed and loved for who I am.”

Hear Lynsey’s full story and more on why she loves her job below.
